Antler Centenary Autumn 14 in stock
The fashion and travel set were out in force at our press day to preview our Autumn Winter 2014 collection. Held at One Horseguards in London, our event was attended by magazine editors, stylists, power bloggers, industry figures and travel press. Showcasing our stunning new ranges, the event also celebrated our 100 year anniversary.
Prior to the event, beautifully embossed gold invites that incorporated the Elara suitcase pattern and the same colour references as the Matthew Shave photography, were sent to key press in gold foil envelopes. This reflected the luxury credentials & feel of the event, and the inclusion of the 100 year logo ensured press were aware this was more than a press day.
Held at One Horseguards, the venue was perfect for the event. The building, built in 1884, had period rooms throughout that were dressed in a modern way, combining Antler’s past and future beautifully. It also offered stunning views of the Thames and London’s iconic landmarks including The London Eye, Big Ben and The House of Parliament, further emphasising Antler’s British identity.
Elara, Onyx and Aire stole the show, whilst Atom was the star piece and excited all press, especially news editors, with all leading fashion titles looking to cover the story for September issues. Press commented how the handbag collections had moved on considerably, especially Harper’s Bazaar who were blown away by the design quality.
Loved by the fashion press, Elara is set to become the stand-out collection of the season. Promising to bring style and comfort on every journey, it really is a stunning range...
Precision design meets innovative construction to create this super light and super strong case, which is packed with clever features.
As our most important product launch in an illustrious 100 year history, Atom combines the best in cutting edge design and product engineering. Designed and made in Britain, Atom looks set to become the most iconic and talked about product in the travel goods market.
Atom is our lightest ever (from 1.9kg) hard case range with a stunning hexagonal design that gives the case natural strength. The product uses Armordon, a unique material in the luggage market known for its incredible durability and resistance to impacts. Armordon is a woven polypropylene which is used in many applications such as protective helmets and armour for military vehicles; it is made in Scotland from origins of North Sea oil.
“I am a real fanatic about luggage, and have worked with a lot of leading travel brands over a 15 year period at ELLE, but I’m really taken aback by the collections I’ve seen here today that all feel so premium, I’m astonished at the price-points. The soft cases have so many great design features, especially those that fold and pack up easily, and the finishing touches & lining are gorgeous. I could have stayed here all day picking up and examining the cases. For the first time in a long time I feel excited about luggage again”
DONNA WALLACE, ACCESSORIES EDITOR, ELLE
“Antler has really gone all out to impress. As you can imagine the team at Vogue.com are invited to and attend a lot of launches but the venue and the product have not only been a refreshing change, but feel like a real occasion. There are some fashion pieces here that Vogue readers will love, like Elara and Onyx, these will undoubtedly usher in a new era of Antler fans. We’ve been aware of Antler for afew years now, but this is clearly a brand that really has something exciting to say”
SCARLETT KILCOOLEY-O’HALLORAN, NEWS EDITOR, VOGUE.COM
“What beautiful handbags and suitcases, both fashion & design-led – our editor will be a huge fan of the Ava and Lauren styles. It’s really lovely to see a brand assimilate its history into products like the handbag buckles and Elara ranges in such a unique way. We really want to congratulate the design teams. Everything was so lightweight, durable with very appealing colours but most importantly, practical. I look forward to seeing what is in store next, especially with radical departures from the main collections like Atom”
SASHA SLATER, DEPUTY EDITOR, HARPER’S BAZAAR
“The Elara collection has really floored me today – so many great design angles, I am sure this will have fashion editors by the throat. Futuristic designs like the Jupiter will be very popular. Antler has delivered an exciting event that is the new benchmark for not just how luggage brands, but also fashion brands should operate for press and the product is beautifully merchandised."
